Refund Policy
This policy covers two distinct types of money that flow through Donateazy: platform subscription fees (money you pay us), and donations (money donors give to your NGO). The rules are different for each, so please read carefully.
01 Platform Subscription Fees
This section applies to fees you pay Donateazy for access to the platform (e.g., the Pro plan).
After 7 days: Subscription fees are non-refundable. This is because access to the platform is provided immediately on payment and we incur costs regardless of usage.
Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. Until that date, your account and all its data remain fully accessible. We do not pro-rate refunds for unused days in a billing cycle.
How to request a refund:
- Email support@donateazy.com with the subject line: Refund Request
- Include your registered organisation name and the date of payment
- You must raise the request within 7 days of the payment date
Processing time: Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days and returned to your original payment method (card or bank account used at the time of payment).
02 Donation Transactions
If you are a donor and would like a refund for a donation you made:
- Contact the NGO directly. Their contact details are on their public profile page on the Donateazy platform or on the receipt you received.
- Each NGO has its own policy on whether and how it handles donation refund requests.
Donateazy has no authority to instruct an NGO to refund a donation, and we have no access to the funds (which are settled directly to the NGO's bank account by Razorpay).
If you believe a transaction was fraudulent:
- Contact Razorpay customer support immediately
- Contact your bank or card issuer to raise a chargeback dispute
- You may also file a complaint with the Cyber Crime portal at cybercrime.gov.in if you believe fraud has occurred
03 Payment Errors
Sometimes a payment gateway error can result in a situation where your card was charged but the donation was not recorded in the NGO's account.
If this happens:
- Contact us at support@donateazy.com within 48 hours of the transaction
- Include your name, the amount charged, the date, and the last 4 digits of the card that was charged
- We will investigate with Razorpay and resolve the issue, either by confirming the donation was recorded, or by initiating a refund through Razorpay
We take payment errors seriously and aim to resolve them within 3 business days of receiving your report.
04 80G Receipts
If you (as an NGO) received an incorrect 80G receipt from the system due to an error on our side (e.g., a system bug that populated the wrong receipt number or certificate details), we will reissue the corrected receipt at no charge.
If the incorrect receipt details were caused by inaccurate information you entered in your organisation profile (e.g., wrong PAN, wrong 80G certificate number), you will need to:
- Update the correct information in your Settings page
- Request a reissue of the affected receipts from within the platform or by emailing support
Note that once an 80G receipt has been issued and the donor has used it for tax filing purposes, any changes should be handled in consultation with your tax advisor, as the correction process has implications under the Income Tax Act.
